Current Targets

What are Invasive Species?

Invasive species threaten our environment, economy, agriculture, human health, and/or quality of life. Invasive species are not native to Hawaii, they were introduced either intentionally or accidentally by humans. Invasive species generally reproduce quickly and are able to spread from their initial intended area.

OISC Priority Species

We concentrate on species that pose the highest threat to Oahu’s ecosystem and quality of life and have the greatest feasibility of eradication. The following  threats are priority species actively controlled by OISC. Sightings of these pests should be reported immediately.
