RCUH Outstanding Employee of the Year: Outstanding Project Support Staff, 1st Place – Alisa Kimura 2016
The Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) is one of the largest employers in the state with 2,750 employees. RCUH provides financial, human resources and support services to many projects including OISC.
Alisa (Al) Kimura has been OISC’s Fiscal & Program Associate since 2013. She manages a complicated budget that is supported by multiple grants with varying deadlines. Al is equally adept at working with outreach staff to make sure products are high quality and convey the inteded messages. She spearheaded OISC’s first fundraiser and went beyond her scope of responsibilities to find new funding opportunities. Mahalo nui loa, Al!
Special Achievement in GIS – 2008
“The Environmental Systems Research Institute presented the O‘ahu Invasive Species Committee with the Special Achievement in GIS Award in August at the 28th Annual ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, California. The award honors organizations that make significant contributions to society through their use of a geographic information system, or GIS, a technology which captures, stores, analyses and manages earth data. ESRI designs and develops GIS modeling and mapping software and technology.”
